Featured Auto: Audi5 Sportback

Vorsprung durch Technik is the claim to which the Audi brand is committed. Not only where sportiness is concerned. But in terms of future-oriented mobility as well. Audi consistently implements various efficiency measures in an overall concept. As a developer of numerous innovations, Audi has had a long-lasting effect on the automotive industry.

The TFSI® engines in the Audi A5 Sportback.
TFSI® technology is employed in the A5 Sportback. What’s special about that is:
-it combines the advantages of FSI® with a supercharging that ensures even better power delivery.
-The two TFSI engines you have available are all equipped with the
economic start-stop system and it goes without saying that they
comply with the EU5 emission standard.
The 1.8 TFSI has 125 kW of power and a maximum torque of 320 Nm. It is one of the most fuel-efficient engines of its class: in the ideal case, consumption is as low as 5.8 l per 100 km with manual transmission. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds. The powerful 2.0 TFSI engine with its 155 kW will have you sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds.
Fuel consumption and emissions data:Combined fuel consumption: 5.8-7.0 l/100 km
CO2 emission figures combined: 136-159 g/km

The S tronic® combines the sportiness and efficiency of a manual gearbox with the benefits of an automatic transmission to reduce the car's fuel consumption.

The best way to make efficient engines even more economical: switching them off.
Standard at Audi: the start-stop system that helps the driver to save fuel and thus reduce CO2 emissions. When the car has come to a complete standstill, the gear lever has been moved to neutral and the driver has released the clutch pedal, the system automatically shuts down the engine. In the stop phase the driver information system displays a “Start-Stop” symbol. The engine starts again as soon as the clutch pedal is pressed.
The start-stop system is quiet, convenient to operate, and fast – the engine has already resumed idle speed by the time the driver engages the gear. Over the combined cycle the potential saving is thus around 0.2 l/100 km – equivalent to 5 grams of CO2 per km. The system can be deactivated at any time at the push of a button.

The start-stop system has been available since June 2009 for the following models with manual gearbox: A3 1.4 TFSI®, A3 1.6 TDI® 77 kW, as well as A4 2.0 and A5 2.0 (in each case TDI®, TDI® quattro®, TFSI® and TFSI® quattro® versions).
